On 24 January 2013 the Chairman of the ANZAC Memorial Malta, Mr Nicholas Bonello OAM, advised the MCCV that the two bronze figures that were cast a few weeks earlier were installed on the pedestal, thus completing the work on the ANZAC Memorial located in the Argotti Botanical Gardens in Floriana.
Mr Bonello thanked the MCCV for its valued contribution to the project which helped to cement the already very good relations between Malta, Australia and New Zealand. He hoped that the MCCV will help to publicise the Memorial among those who will be travelling to Malta from Australia. ‘Let us all endeavour to start a tradition whereby those visiting the Memorial will put a flower on the steps, were the ANZACs who are permanently resting in Malta are commemorated,’ he wrote.
