The European Commission has just launched its public consultation on EU citizenship in order to obtain a better insight of what EU citizens experience in practice and what they think can be done to simplify the exercise of their EU rights. The consultation is addressed to individual citizens as well as to civil society organisations and others.
This time the EC asks for views about common EU values, such as non-discrimination, and how these values can be further promoted. They also seek ideas about ways to facilitate and reinforce democratic engagement and participation, such as exercising the right to vote in European/national/local elections when residing in another EU country.
Other relevant themes are about facilitating residence in another EU country and about mobility of skills and cross-border teaching.
If you’re an EU citizen, have your say – complete the online survey!
